About
A statement converter that shows its working
Most tools in this category ask you to upload a bank statement to an unknown server and then tell you the result is accurate. This one does the work on your device and tells you how it knows.
What it does
It converts text-based bank statement PDFs — the ones you download from online banking — into an Excel workbook or CSV, and it converts OFX and QFX exports too. It reads the layout of the page, rebuilds the table from the positions and alignments of the text, and then verifies every row against the running balance the statement prints.
That verification is the point. A bank statement is a self-checking document: on every row, the previous balance plus the amount equals the balance. If that holds from the first row to the last, the rows were read correctly. If it fails, you are told exactly which rows, and why.
What it does not do
It does not read scanned or photographed statements, and it will say so within a second rather than produce plausible-looking rows from an image. It does not categorise your spending or guess at merchants. It does not combine several statements into one. And it does not send your statement anywhere — there is no upload endpoint, no storage and no queue, which is why the tool keeps working when you are offline.
How it is funded
Advertising, and referrals to OCR services for the scanned statements this tool cannot read. There is no subscription, no row limit and no sign-up, and the tool is not gated behind anything. If you find it useful, the honest way to support it is to use the OCR referral when you genuinely need OCR.
Accuracy, stated honestly
This is a conversion tool, not an audit. It converts what your statement says; it does not verify your bank's arithmetic or check that the statement itself is correct. Rows that could not be verified are flagged rather than presented as fact, and the Excel workbook keeps the original text line behind every row so any figure can be traced back to the document.
Always check the converted rows against your original statement before you file, reconcile or lend against them.
Independence
This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any bank, and it is not affiliated with Intuit, Xero or any OCR provider. Bank and product names are used only to describe the statement formats and export formats the tool supports.
