Took a month off to join a team doing a livestream. The work experience is not quite the same as before, here are some of my small impressions:

      1. "Same behavior, different motivations, different results" * *

Why did this statement sound contradictory, and why did the same behavior have different results?

Here's an example:

Because the feedback provided by the data side is: "30% of new users who logged in by a third party chose to abandon registration in the verification SMS link".

So

The product chooses to cancel the setting of "Mobile Verification" in the registration section.

However,

The latest national regulations require users to verify their phone identity. In other words, whenever a user * * generates behavior (session, red envelope, expression, etc. * *) during the live broadcast of the experience, a "phone verification pop-up window" will pop up, and when clicked, it will redirect to the "phone verification" page.Interrupting a user's livestream experience is extremely bad.

I propose: “When a third party logs in for the first time, they can choose to skip phone verification and also tell him that he will be able to get more interactive experience permissions after verification.”

The product manager readily accepts.

In fact, what I want to express is not to verify that the phone's choice to skip is great, a simple "skip" button, the designer's motivation is different, and the result is different.

    • Derived from my current understanding of design, design is not fancy gorgeous, or brainThe idea is to choose a simple and suitable solution based on the actual user experience framework. * *

As everyone is most familiar with "WeChat", it did not how to create a new way of interaction, and the function of black technology, but chose a simple program. The reverse textbooks "Mi Chang", "Yi Xin", and "Interaction" want to break the head. Various innovations still cannot occupy a place in "acquaintance socialization".

      1. "Always consider the value for money" * *

It may be that this company was previously a product manager and did not have an interaction designer position. For some interaction details, the handling is not particularly good.

For example, the selection of "toast" and "dialog", the layout of the input box, the placement of the button, and the feedback of the operation prompt are not obvious, and the prominence of the button is not obvious.

I still put it out fairly straightforwardly, suggesting that it should be improved in this version.

The product manager decisively declined, citing:

"Based on the current development progress and team resources, there are more important new features to implement, which do not affect the experience used, and can be placed in the demand pool to iterate.* * Otherwise, the cost of perfection will affect the development of new core functions, which is not cost-effective * *. ”

    • So the right thing to do, but be clear about when to do it. * *
      1. Methodology * *

This is not a new feeling, it is a reinforcing summary:

  • When the thinking is unclear, you can be sureDefine the target problem, then divide it into small problems, and analyze the constraints and solutions.
      • For the solution, first exhaust the design possibilities, then analyze the pros and cons to choose the best solution. So the junior designer stays in creating the solution, the senior designer is in choosing the optimal solution. * *
  • Ordinary product managers may be able to sort out the functional logic, but this is not enough for the experience, * * to weigh the color of the interface, copywriting, layout, which will affect the user's mood and thus affect the user's judgment, resulting in behavior. * *
      1. Entering the hometown and following the customs * *

Since the previous product output documents to the technology are more textual descriptions, the description of the interaction is more in the form of text.I used to use diagrams.

In order to conform to the habits of technology, I can only describe it in words.

Then, try to respect the UI designer's advice for situations where the experience is not severely impacted. On the one hand, it improves efficiency and reduces unnecessary tearing.
